Try to experience the siege of Sarajevo, which was besieged for 44 months, and hear the story of unfortunate war times...
This tour gives you an insight of what was happening during the longest siege waged on a city in modern history.
During your ride, our guide will introduce you with the buildings and places that were important spots during the Siege of Sarajevo (from 1992 to 1995). On our journey, we will see Sniper alley (famous sniper alley in Sarajevo), Markale Market masaccre sites, parliament Building of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ex Marshal Tito Military Barracks, Sarajevo Children Memorial, Vijećnica (Library - City Hall), TV house of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The place of the biggest importance during the Siege the War Tunnel Museum - the Tunnel of Hope was the major "blood line" for heavily sieged and destroyed city.
At the Tunnel we shall see a short movie about the War in Sarajevo and Tunnel, followed by going through the Tunnel itself. At the exhibitional part of the museum we shall have the opportunity to see many interesting exhibits directly connected with Siege of Sarajevo.
The trip to the tunnel and all the way in the tunnel is covered with a true first person experience of classy guide, who is always willing to answer questions, no matter what they are. We shall learn about the origins of the War in Balkans, the dreams Serbian leaders have had, and how they succeeded to seduce large number of Serbian nationalist throughout the whole Balkans, and made them go to war.
After the tunnel tour, our jouney takes us to the mountain Trebević, where many battles took place. At the site we have the opportunity to see where the real destruction appeared such as Zlatište, Osmice, Police house, Sarajevo Bobsleigh, Trebević Vidikovac and many other destroyed facilities and sites.
Return to the city. End of program.
